Mário J. Alves was a Research Fellow at the Centre for Transport Studies, University of London, and at the Centre for Urban and Regional Systems, University of Lisbon. As a transport and mobility consultant, he has coordinated mobility plans and acted as an advisor to several European institutions. He currently serves as Secretary-General of the International Federation of Pedestrians.
