Join the Global Designing Cities Initiative (GDCI) for a dedicated track at Walk21 Tirana and dive deep into the future of people-friendly streets. With one subscription, you’ll gain access to all three sessions in the track, designed to build on each other and offer maximum value when experienced together. Each session offers a unique format (workshop, walkshop, and learning lab) and together they create a complete learning journey, moving from principles, to real-world experience, to evaluation and communication.
The sessions include:
W11. Designing Streets for People – All Ages and Abilities (Workshop)
14:00-17:00 Thursday, 9 October, 2025, White Room (Base room)
Explore the role of streets in urban life and learn key principles from the Global Street Design Guide and the Designing Streets for Kids Guide. Following short presentations, take part in a hands-on workshop using GDCI’s interactive tools and puzzle pieces to apply what you’ve learned.
WS16. How Do Kids Experience Streets? (WalkShop)
11:00-12:30 Wednesday, 8 October, 2025, Main Entrance (Pyramid)
See streets through the eyes of a child with GDCI’s Reverse Periscope, a tool that allows adults to experience the world from the height of a 3-year-old. Walking through Tirana, you’ll discover how design choices affect children’s safety, perception, and play.
