Daniel Sauter is a sociologist living in Zurich, Switzerland. He has devoted most of his professional life as researcher to the world of walking, road danger reduction, the analysis of mobility patterns and the creation of inclusive public spaces. He co-initiated the International Charter for Walking and currently is coordinating efforts to improve measuring walking.
